Nordic Walking Groups on offer

EXPLORE:

Explore walks are held in different locations each week. The focus of EXPLORE is enjoyment, discovery and variety. There is a  4km and 5km option. EXPLORE is the ideal session for clients who want a good workout but also want to take in their surroundings and enjoy the experience of being outdoors. Sessions begin with a short warm-up and close with a cool down.

Wednesday at 09:30 and 11:00

POWER:

POWER is a higher-intensity session,on Monday evenings at 18:00. It is designed for walkers who are confident in their Nordic walking technique and ready to push their limits! There is a rotating class format which includes:

Speed: A fast-paced 5km walk  focused on pushing pace and improving cardiovascular fitness.

Endurance: A 6km session designed to build stamina and sustained cardiovascular effort. The goal is to complete the 6km within the hour. Ideal for clients who want to go further and build their overall fitness base.

Hills: A challenging session tackling inclines and varied elevation to build lower limb strength, cardiovascular fitness and pole technique. Demanding, but highly rewarding.

Strength: A session which combines Nordic walking, specific drills and resistance-based movements to help build total body strength.

STRIDE

STRIDE is a technique-focused Nordic walk held every Friday at Eaton Park. Sessions are structured around the INWA 10 Step Method to develop and refine your movement and Nordic walking technique. Each session opens with a technique-focused warm-up, introducing or revisiting a specific element of the INWA method to set the focus for the walk ahead. Throughout the session, I will check in with each client individually, observing how you are moving and offering feedback or adjustments as needed. Routes vary each week, but the start location at Eaton Park remains consistent, making STRIDE straightforward to build into your weekly routine.

REHABILITATION SESSIONS

The Nordic Walking Rehabilitation classes combine Nordic walking with targeted strength and balance exercises to help you improve confidence, mobility, fitness and independence in a supportive outdoor environment.

All clients join the rehabilitation classes following a 1:1 physiotherapy assessment, ensuring appropriate class placement for your needs and goals. Formal progress reviews every 6 weeks using recognised outcome measures

REHAB RESTORE

A gentle 1–1.5km walk, at a gentle pace. Suitable for clients who are recovering from injury, surgery or illness, are returning to exercise after a period of inactivity or need a gentle, supported introduction to Nordic walking and rehabilitation exercise. The focus is on rebuilding confidence in movement, improving balance and stability and establishing the foundations for future progression.

REHAB REBUILD

A gentle 2-2.5km walk, at a moderate pace. Suitable for clients who are ready for greater walking distances and exercise intensity, want to improve strength, endurance and functional fitness or are working towards greater independence and confidence. The focus is on improving strength and balance, improving walking fitness and endurance and progressing towards longer distances and more challenging activities

Placement into RESTORE or REBUILD is based on your physiotherapy assessment. Some clients may progress from RESTORE to REBUILD, while others may be suitable for REBUILD from the outset.
